Hot off the press: Knott Architects has again been Highly Commended in this year’s GAGA Awards (Galvanizers Association Galvanizing Awards – aka GAGA Construction Awards).
Running diagonally across the full width of the garden, a hot-dip galvanized steel beam spans this lower floor extension in North London. The beam supports both galvanized steel tray green roof and glass screen wall. Demountable galvanized steel poles extend in a triangular pattern further outwards, enabling bespoke awning sections to create dynamic shade and a flexible outdoor space. The extension incorporates kitchen / dining / living space and with its access to the garden is now the focal point of the house.
