Planning Aid for London in partnership with Knott Architects have recently held four workshops entitled 'Shaping Places'. Twenty-two people with visual impairments and other disabilities along with nine helpers tested the pilot 'Tactile City' model. Feedback from participants is being evaluated by a team drawn from local planning authorities, including planners and access officers. The aim is to involve more people with disabilites in the land-use planning process with respect to understanding needs and improving consultations, outcomes and facilities.
